Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

~        Assist with identifying scope, breadth and depth of Mechanical Engineering technical services / requirements on projects

~        Occasionally provide technical input into the development and reviews of proposals and cost estimates for projects

~        Occasional direct supervision over Intern / Junior / Intermediate Mechanical Engineering staff with respect to the execution of project-specific Mechanical Engineering work

~        Perform, as required, Mechanical Engineering design work in support of projects, proposals and studies.

~        Occasionally function as Project Engineer / Project Manager on projects where appropriate

~        Occasionally provide coverage for / assume role of Lead or Chief Mechanical Engineer, when required

~        Provide Mechanical Engineering specifications or input

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and behaviors:

~        10+ years related work experience (with at least 4 in Canada)

~        Graduated from post-secondary in mechanical engineering

~        P.Eng designation (Alberta, British Columbia, or Saskatchewan)

~        Strong generalist knowledge and background in mechanical engineering design, analytical tools, and software

~        Working knowledge and previous experience with ASME, ANSI, API, CSA and other industry codes and standards

~        Strong mechanical engineering design and calculation skills in the areas of statics, kinematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and related physical sciences

~        Pipe Stress and Pipeline design experience would be an asset

~        Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Suite

~        Strong Verbal and written communication skills

~        Proven ability to multitask efficiently and flexibility to respond to changes in priorities

~        Good organizational and time management skills, as well as an ability to meet deadlines

~        Motivated self-starter with strong leadership skills including mentoring, training, and leading
