HR Generalist

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

o        Provide expertise for the full scope of HR functions including; employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, communications, performance management and other functions as required

o        Full-cycle recruitment duties for field positions and office staff, including:

~        Developing recruitment materials

~        Completing job descriptions

~        Coordinating job fairs and other innovative recruiting methods

~        Posting and advertising vacancies

~        Screening and short listing applicants, including the use of interviews and various testing measures

~        Coaching management and team leaders on effective hiring procedures

~        Liaising with external recruitment sources

o        Provide guidance and coaching on current, and changing, employment standards

o        Implement both succession planning and redeployment programs

o        Manage termination process, new hires, and exit interviews

o        Contribute to the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures

o        Lead and/or participate in process improvement initiatives related to employee engagement and company culture

o        Back-up payroll duties

o        Offer support and guidance as it pertains to conflict resolution, labour laws, health & safety, and other HR areas.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and behaviors:

~        Post-secondary education, ideally in the HR field

~        CHRP (or working towards) is an asset

~        4+ years related experience

~        Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel & Outlook

~        Ability to make decisions independently

~        Capacity for managing a busy, fast-paced schedule

~        Strong verbal and written communication

~        Desire to motivate and empower employees
