This is the restaurant’s book keeping position, with the overall responsibility to assist our controller in financial reporting, and accounting services, for the group of companies. In addition to this assist and lead the organization through policy and procedures, implementation and adherence.

This position fosters the financial well-being of the companies through delivering the required financial reporting in order to make accurate business decisions and support the operations team to achieve the goals in profitability.

This person leads by example with the companies “impactful leadership” philosophy and should also represent and practice all of the CRAFT core values.


This position works out of the head office with 45 hours per week Accounting Activities

  •   Expense coding, and processing while ensuring proper invoice matching and coding is performed

  •   Journal entries and assist with month end close

  •   Bank reconciliations

  •   Oversee and monitor wires and EFT payments & banking activities

  •   Create structure or system on interrelated companies and the transactions that occur for

    all locations

  •   Oversee and ensure accuracy of reconciliation of accounts receivable, payable and payroll

  •   Maintain all financial records of all companies, keep accounting up to date, file returns, and

    prepare year ends for all current and future entities.

  •   Provide support and direction to all office managers and General Managers on the proper

    bookkeeping procedures on a store by store basis


  •   Assist with the process of payroll year ends including T4 filing and summaries

  •   All WCB year ends and filing

  •   Supports store and head office in employee related payroll inquires

    Administrative Activities

  •   Assist the Office Manager with day to day duties

  •   Provides support for and performs such other tasks as may be assigned by the Controller or

    Head Office from time to time such as printing, filing and mailing


  •   Attend relevant seminars that would be applicable to our operations

  •   Remains alert to, and are interested in, developments in the overall foodservice industry

  •   Brings ideas that may be of interest to the company to the attention of the ownership and

    operations team

  •   Has a hands on approach to tasks given to ensure the main goal is for the best results for

    the company


    Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures

  •   Post-secondary educations in an accounting related field or equivalent is an asset

  •   Proficiency with Microsoft Office is an asset

  •   QuickBooks experience is preferred

  •   Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  •   Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines

  •   Ability to work well with a team or individually

  •   Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly and to ensure they are clearly

    communicated to an audience

  •   Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities

  •   Accuracy and attention to detail

  •   Outgoing personality with a sense of humour

  •   Energetic, self-motivated, and results-oriented

  •   Hospitality Industry experience would be an asset

  •   Ability to exercise good judgment & show initiative

  •   This individual also works effectively without supervision at all times, and has a well-

    developed sense of business acumen
