CRAFT Overview


CRAFT Beer Market is a premium casual restaurant with a passion for fresh local food and fresh local beer. With a focus on using fresh, local ingredients whenever possible, all menu items are handcrafted in house to provide the freshest food possible. 


CRAFT opened the doors to its first location in Calgary in 2011 and has since expanded to locations in Edmonton, Vancouver and soon Ottawa, Ontario. This will be the fourth location in Canada and our first foray in the Eastern market. Every person that joins our team and every guest that walks through our doors becomes part of the story as we grow and evolve.

The Marketing & Events Manager is the local/regional brand ambassador for CRAFT Beer Market. The role oversees all aspects of branding through internal and external events and relationships. They are responsible for rolling out all corporate marketing initiatives as well as identifying local and regional opportunities for creating awareness around CRAFT and driving sales at the store level. This position will actively pursue negotiate, book and organize functions and reservations for the restaurant in order to achieve function revenue goals.




  • This position works from the restaurant with 45 hours per week
    • May require evenings and weekends
  • Brand ambassador
  • Roll out corporate marketing initiatives and provide feedback on success and opportunities
  • Identify local marketing opportunities (internal & external), and develop roll outs outlining strategy and metrics to drive sales as well a post mortem which evaluates the success of the initiative
  • Maintain a current marketing calendar that outlines all internal, and relevant external, events
  • New business calls to initiate new events and functions by calls, cookie drops, table touches etc.
  • Actively pursue, negotiate, book and organize functions and reservations for the restaurant in order to achieve function revenue goals.
  • Point of contact for all group bookings from initial contact to follow up after event
  • Build function sheets with details of events such as meetings, receptions, lunches, dinners, product launches and corporate events 
  • Attend any external promotional events or be on hand for any weekend initiatives we are hosting on site to network
  • Identify key relationships and memberships that will help build the CRAFT brand and drive sales (Guests, suppliers, media, community, other restaurants, etc.)
  • Liaison for all media relations and inquiries such as TV appearances, familiarization tours hosting food/beer writers, etc.  
  • Maintain a current media contact list and database
  • Notify relevant media of notable happenings at CRAFT
  • Manage all social media channels and online review sites. Ensure that content is relevant and respond in a timely manner to all guest feedback; within 2-3 hours reply
  • Work with General Manager and management team to reinforce brand, guest and staff experience
  • Ensure that all marketing collateral (internal and external) is consistent in messaging and design that reflect the CRAFT brand
  • Ensure that all internal marketing collateral is current
  • Identify new ways to build a sales culture within the restaurant
  • Attend relevant external events and act as the “face of CRAFT” to build relationships
  • Ensure that website is up to date
  • Maintain and build guest database for e-newsletter
  • Work with graphic designer to create all marketing collateral for in store events and advertising
  • Lead all external tradeshows and events (ex: Beer Festival)
  • Manage all aspects of retail merchandise - inventory, display, sales strategies, etc. 
  • Develop local sales & marketing plans along with General Manager 
  • Liaison for all charity and community initiatives – ie: Ronald McDonald House, St. Vincent de Paul, etc.
  • Oversee mobile app to ensure that all information and that push notifications are being sent to users
  • Full understanding of Tripleseat




  • Attend relevant seminars that would be applicable sales and marketing initiatives
  • Remains alert to, and are interested in, developments in the overall foodservice industry
  • Brings ideas that may be of interest to the company to the attention of the ownership and operations team
  • Provides support for and performs such other tasks as may be assigned by the COO, President or Director of Brand, Sales & Marketing from time to time.
  • Has a can-do approach to tasks given to ensure the main goal is for the best results for the company





  • Minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing is an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is an asset 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well with a team or individually 
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly and to ensure they are clearly communicated to an audience
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Outgoing personality with a sense of humour
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and results-oriented
  • Hospitality Industry experience would be an asset
  • Ability to exercise good judgment & show initiative
  • This person leads by example with the company’s “impactful leadership” philosophy and should also represent and practice all of the CRAFT core values
  • This individual also works effectively without supervision at all times, and has a well-developed sense of business acumen
