Senior Conference Services Coordinator

The Conference Centre is a vibrant event space providing a variety of services to accommodate meetings, conferences and special events for Calgary’s non-profit community, businesses, and individuals.

The Conference Centre provides central, cost-effective and innovative space to suit most meeting requirements.

Summary of position requirements:

  •   Booking reservations (training on our VISION reservation software will be provided)

  •   Be the main point of contact at the reception desk for all clients and tenants of

    the Kahanoff Centre

  •   General administrative work such as answering phones, faxing, photocopying

  •   Liaise with the Conference and Administrative Services Manager to supervise part

    time staff members

  •   Setting up the conference space based on client’s requirements

  •   Remain courteous and accommodating to the clients at all times

  •   Attending to the meetings during their breaks

  •   Ensuring audio visual equipment is set up

  •   Audio visual troubleshooting

  •   Administrative support to supervisor and colleagues

  •   managing incoming/ outgoing mail

  •   Room clean-up is required for this position

  •   Required to move furniture for set-ups

  •   Must be able to lift chairs above your head for stacking (max. 30lbs)

  •   Additional tasks assigned

  •   Must be comfortable working alone

  •   Ability to multi-task

  •   Reliable and flexible

  •   Excellent organizational and time management skills

  •   Close attention to detail - This is key for this position

  •   Ability to prioritize and troubleshoot effectively

  •   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  •   Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

  •   Event or conference related experience and familiarity with the non-profit sector

    is not mandatory, however considered an asset
