SALES REPRESENTATIVE - HORTICULTURE

Our client is looking for a Sales Rep to service Greenhouse Nursery, and Landscape accounts in Alberta. Working for a major crop supply company with head office in BC, provides the horticulture industry and other commercial accounts with a wide range of fertilizers, seeds, crop protection products, media, plastics and other inputs throughout Western Canada. Our customers are professional growers and key industry decision makers the organization has locations in BC and Calgary.

 

Responsibilities:

Maintain existing clients as well as develop new markets and expand interests in Alberta

Lead grower conversations with technical knowledge of crop inputs

Create revenue by listening, responding, following up, and listening some more

Establish and maintain clients as long terms partners who share their revenue with us making it critical we assist in their success.

 

Qualifications:

A degree or diploma in horticulture or a related science

Experience in hydroponic vegetable, floral and nursery production, lawn care and landscape inputs would be an asset, preferably in the areas of crop protection and nutrition

Previous experience in horticultural sales is an asset

Be required to have or obtain a Commercial Pesticide Dispenser Certificate, a Transport of Dangerous Goods Certificate

Valid Driver License

Have integrity and character

Excellence in communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

Ability to work independently, with mature time management ability is a must.

Previous experience as a territory manager is preferred

Some travel may be required
